After some time your PC may take more time to start due to
useless startup applications and improper configurations.
Solution:
ü Remove
useless/unneeded startup programs. You have potentially dozens of programs
running in the background that you don’t know about. These do nothing but suck
up valuable RAM. In order to get rid of these you must use the MsConfig
utility (Start -> Run-> Msconfig) and uncheck all the startup
applications.
ü Run
a disk defragmenter. Defragging your system will streamline the way computer
accesses information. It will tie up loose ends and condense the data on your
computer so it runs more efficiently. It is recommended to defrag your PC once
a month.
ü Adjust
Startup delay time to speed up the Boot time
Step 1: Go to Start-> Run and type Regedit
and press enter. This will open Registery Editor
Step 2: Go to following Key
HKEY_LOACAL_MECHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr
ol\ContentIndex
Step 3: Find the “Startup Delay” Key and Double Click on
it.
Step 4: Choose Base and click Decimal
Step 5: Change the Default
Value from 4800000
(75300:hexadecimal) to 40000
Step 6: Close the Registry editor
and Reboot your PC.
